PURPOSE
Statistics say that 60% of teens who grow up in church will eventually “quit” church. This is a statistic that is sad and one that must be avoided if at all possible. For this reason it is foundational that students have every possibility available to be “Rooted in Christ.” These spiritual “roots” are made when students are learning, living, and getting connected.
LEARNING
Because spiritual growth is so important, it is foundational in all that we do. Every Sunday Morning we discuss topics that are relevant but also essential to the growth of our faith. It is important that the youth of today understand not only WHAT we believe but WHY we hold to our beliefs according to the Bible. This will encourage the youth to be confident in the faith and will encourage one’s life to be “Rooted in Christ.”
LIVING
Every Wednesday night @ 6 PM the students and leaders meet for our Roots Accountability Groups. This meeting involves fun, fellowship, and a practical Biblical lesson. During this time we also break into smaller groups to encourage interaction and spiritual growth throughout the week.
GETTING CONNECTED
Students are also encouraged to be connected to the church in some aspect of service. From Ramseur Kidz ministry to Choir, there is always a place of service available to the youth that will encourage their spiritual growth in a more practical way. We understand here at Ramseur that students are not only part of the youth group but are also valuable members of Ramseur Baptist Church.
Along with weekend activities, a week-long Summer camp, and many other exciting events, the student ministry here at Ramseur provides an atmosphere of Christian fellowship that encourages each and every student to be “Rooted in Christ.”
